Transportation
This post provides all the information related to air and train travel into downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul, as well as details about the public transportation system for the twin cities.
By Air
You can comfortably reach Minneapolis by air via Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), located 20 min (10.7 mi) from the Graduate Hotel. The airport has two main passenger terminals that act as hubs for the airlines:
- Terminal 1: handles flights from Aer Lingus, Air Canada, Air France, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Denver Air, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa, Spirit Airlines, United Airelines, and WestJet.
- Terminal 2: handles filghts from Allegiant, Condor, Frontier, Iceland Air, JetBlue, Southwest, and Sun Country.
For more information, please visit the MSP Airport website.
Transport to and from the Airport
Transportation from MSP Airport to the Graduate Hotel and UMN Campus can be done via public transportation, rideshare or taxi.
Public Transportation
The blue light rail line connects directly to the MSP airport underground, and can be taken directly to the graduate hotel via transfer to the green line at U.S. Bank Stadium and exiting at East Bank station.

Taxi or Ride-hailing services
Taxis are available directly outside the terminal at Tram level (T), and rideshare services (Uber, Lyft) are available via following the signs at tram level. Taxis or rideshare services usually take about 20 minutes from MSP to the Graduate Hotel, traffic permitting.

Biking
Biking is a great way to get around the Twin Cities area. There are many designated bike baths, including along the Mississippi River (the East River Parkway and West River Parkway) and to our chain of lakes (the Midtown Greenway and Grand Rounds). Bikes can be rented from the University of Minnesota Center for Outdoor Adventure, which is directly behind the Graduate Hotel and open to the public.
